RULES FOR THE DESIGN OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

The following requirements apply to articles sent to the editorial office of the journal “Vestnik Vyatskogo GATU”:

1. Articles in Russian with a volume of at least 5 and no more than 10 pages are accepted for publication.

2. The originality of the text must be at least 70%.

3. The article should not have been previously published, nor should it be submitted for review for publication in another publication.

4. The main text of the article should be structured and include the following sections: introduction, materials and methods, results and discussions, conclusion.

5. Articles are accepted electronically in the format .doc /.docx with the following parameters set:

  • А4 sheet format;
  • the orientation of the sheet is portrait;
  • margins – 2 cm;
  • Times New Roman font;
  • size – 12 points;
  • line spacing – 1.0;
  • text alignment – in width;
  • paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm;
  • automatic word hyphenation is not allowed.

6. In accordance with GOST R 7.0.7-2021, the elements of the article are arranged in the following order:

6.1. In the upper–left corner of the first page of the text, the type of article is indicated – scientific article, review article, editorial article, discussion article, personalities, editorial note, monograph review, article, etc.

6.2. The next line after the type of article on the left edge indicates the UDC code (the classification is given on the website http://teacode.com/online/udc/). 

6.3. One line down the center of the page, the title of the article in Russian is indicated in bold letters (hereinafter referred to as bold) in single spacing. If the article is divided into parts, each part has a general title, number and, if available, a private title (For example, RESEARCH OF THE PARAMETERS OF THE WORKFLOW OF THE PROTOTYPE MVS-1.0 MACHINE IN ECONOMIC CONDITIONS. PART 1. INVESTIGATION OF THE UNIFORMITY OF GRAIN MATERIAL DISTRIBUTION ACROSS THE WIDTH OF THE BATH OF THE PROTOTYPE MVS-1,0 MACHINE).

6.4. After the title of the article, basic information about the author/authors is indicated:

  • Russian full name, Patronymic, Surname of the author/authors (lowercase letters, bold font, left alignment);
  • the name of the organization (without specifying the organizational and legal form and without quotation marks), which is the author’s place of work (study), with a comma-separated indication of the city and country (left alignment). If the place of work or study of the authors differs, then the information is repeated for each author. 
  • the author’s contact information (e-mail address without the word “e-mail”). If there are several authors, it is advisable to specify the e-mail address of one of the authors who will be responsible for correspondence (Sample: Corresponding author: Alexander Ivanovich Petrov, A.I.Petrov@mail.ru).

6.5. One line after the information about the author/authors is the abstract of the article. The abstract should not exceed 250 words. The abstract should contain information about the main idea and purpose of the research, describe the results obtained, and include the main conclusions. Decoration: Abstract.

6.6. The abstract is followed by keywords reflecting the main content of the article, corresponding to the subject and terminology area (3-15 words or phrases). The use of generalized and ambiguous words, phrases with participial phrases is not allowed. Decoration: Keywords: separated by commas, without a period at the end.

6.7. After the keywords, the next line contains information about the financing of the preparation and publication of the article (Funding:).

6.8. The above information (title of the article, information about the author/authors, abstract, keywords, financing) is duplicated in English through an empty line.

6.9. The main text of the article can be structured and consist of the following parts:

  • introduction;
  • text of the article (with the sections “Materials and methods”, “Results”, “Discussion”, etc.);
  • conclusion.

It is allowed to divide the main text of the article into thematic headings and subheadings.

6.9.1. Design of drawings. The drawings can be made in black and white and color by means of computer graphics. Imported drawings are allowed only in the format.jpg. The figures are placed directly in the text of the article without wrapping the text based on the logic of the presentation. The drawings should have a title located at the bottom of the picture. Title design: Times New Roman font, bold, 12 pt, line spacing – 1.0, centered. All figures should be referenced in the text of the article. The drawing is separated from the text by an empty line at the top and bottom.

6.9.2. Formatting tables. The tables are executed in black and white. All tables should be numbered (table 1, table 2, etc.) and have a heading located at the top of the table. Title design: Times New Roman font, bold, 12 pt, line spacing – 1.0, centered. References to tables in the text are required. The layout of the text in the table: Times New Roman font, 10 pt, line spacing – 1.0. An empty row separates the table from the text at the top and bottom.

6.9.3. Formatting formulas. Equations and formulas should be typed using the standard Microsoft Equation plugin. The equations and formulas should be separated from the text in a separate line. There should be at least one free line above and below each formula or equation. If the equation does not fit on one line, then it must be moved after the mathematical signs, and the sign at the beginning of the next line is repeated. The explanation of the values of symbols and numerical coefficients should be given directly below the formula in the same sequence as they are given in the formula. Formulas should be numbered sequentially throughout the entire article with Arabic numerals in parentheses in the rightmost position on the line. References in the text to the ordinal numbers of formulas are given in parentheses.

6.10. After the main text of the article, a list of sources in Russian and English is provided. At the end of the article there is a list of sources, which is drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the National Standard of the Russian Federation GOST R 7.0.5-2008 “Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules of compilation”. The sources are numbered and arranged in the order of citation in the text. When referring to a source in the text of the article, its serial number is given in square brackets. The list of sources should contain 12-15 names. At the same time, the share of self-citations, as well as references to works by one author, should not exceed 25% of the total number of references. The list of cited sources in English (References) is separated by a space after the list of sources in Russian. It is necessary to translate only Russian-language sources, and bring foreign sources in line with the adapted version of the Vancouver Style.

6.11. After the list of sources, additional information about the author/authors is provided in Russian and English (Information about the authors): full name, academic degree, academic title, place of work and position, e-mail.

6.12. After the information about the authors, an indication is placed about the absence or presence of a conflict of interest and the details of such a conflict, if any.
