ARTICLE SELECTION RULES

1. The selection of scientific articles for the issues of the online publication “Vestnik Vyatskogo GATU” (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) is carried out by the editorial board based on the results of reviewing the received author’s materials.

2. The editorial board of the Journal is guided by the following criteria when selecting scientific articles:

• the content of the scientific article corresponds to the subject of the Journal;
• the originality and novelty of the research – the article should present previously unpublished materials, propose new ideas, approaches or results;
• relevance and social significance – the subject matter and data presented in the article must be scientifically significant, have a potential impact on the scientific industry or the sphere of public life;
• the quality of the content of a scientific article is the clarity of the research goal or hypothesis, methodology, reliability of results, and logical conclusions;
• quality of presentation and structure – the article should be understandable to the target audience, have a clear structure (“Introduction”, “Materials and methods”, “Results and discussion”, “Conclusion”), written in compliance with the norms of scientific style, have correct formatting, including citations, tables and figures;
• compliance with ethical standards – plagiarism, falsification of data, incorrect citation, lack of references to sources are unacceptable in the article;
• the degree of originality of the text when checking in the “Anti-Plagiarism” system must be at least 70%;
• no conflict of interest – the author is obliged to notify the editorial board of a real or potential conflict of interest or its absence.

3. The process of selecting a scientific article for publication consists of the following stages:

• preliminary selection – the responsible editor checks the compliance of the scientific article with the general requirements for publication (originality, content, design);
• review is a comprehensive analysis by expert reviewers of the scientific and methodological advantages and disadvantages of an article with mandatory coverage of relevance and novelty, scientific and practical significance, reliability and sufficiency of the data used, and the quality of materials design;
• decision–making on publication or rejection of an article – the decision is made collectively by the editorial board of the Journal based on the results of reviewing the article, recorded in the protocol, which is signed by the editor-in-chief of the publication.

4. The editorial board has the right to reject materials without review if they do not correspond to the subject of the Journal, are of poor quality, or violate ethical norms, rights, and legitimate interests of third parties.

5. If avoidable deficiencies are identified in a scientific work, the author must correct these deficiencies at the request of the editorial board within the prescribed time. If the author does not eliminate the identified shortcomings, the editorial board has the right to refuse to publish the article with the shortcomings.

6. The decision to include a scientific article in an issue is made collectively by the editorial board of the Journal, recorded in the minutes of the editorial board meeting.
